DESCRIPTION:Composting 101!\nSaturday\, June 27th 2026\n12:30PM – 2PM\nOlive Free Library\n4033 Route 28A\nWest Shokan\, NY 12494\n\n\nCompost Happens! You don’t have to be an expert to be successful at backyard composting; you just need to learn a few basic tips and tricks to get cooking. It’s science; but it’s not rocket science!\n\nJoin the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency’s Recycling Outreach Team for a community conversation about Home Composting Basics. This free workshop is designed for composters who are exploring the different options and methods. The class will introduce the benefits of home composting and the principles of how to do it correctly (balancing browns and greens\, avoiding animals\, maintenance tips and more). Then\, participants will learn the pros and cons when comparing different bins to find the perfect option no matter your situation. Plus: An introduction to vermicomposting (composting with worms) for indoor composting solutions. This class will be hosted by Eva Barnett\, Recycling Educator with the UCRRA’s Recycling Outreach Team. \n\n\n\nClass size is limited and participants must pre-register.
