Shredded Paper & Paper Shredding

Shredded paper may be recycled if placed in a clear plastic bag. This is the only exception for when to put plastic bags in the recycling bin! If shredded paper is loose, it can not be effectively captured and recovered. If shredded paper is found in a clear bag, it’s easily identifiable and can be redirected for proper recycling at recycling facilities.

Always contact your recycler for instructions. Shredded paper is accepted in the recycling program at UCRRA and at participating Town Transfer Stations.
