Thursday March 5th, 2026
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Virtual via ZOOM
with Climate Smart Rochester

Composting is a powerful community strategy for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with our wastes. This virtual workshop will introduce the benefits of composting and various steps that municipalities can take to pursue or enhance community-scale composting. Learn about the waste-climate connection, the factors contributing to food loss and food waste, the award-winning UCRRA Organics Recovery Facility, and other local composting options. This presentation will also cover some basic principles behind how using finished compost improves soil health.

This free, virtual workshop is ideal for adults who want to learn about community-scale composting solutions. Food is too good to waste! Join us and learn how you can help rethink waste in your Town. This program will be presented by Angelina Brandt, UCRRA Director of Sustainability at Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency.
