
Indoor & Cold Weather Composting Seminar

Composting slows in colder weather. Learn some helpful tips to keep your outdoor compost pile “cooking” even in the colder months! Participants will learn about two methods of Indoor Composting: Vermicomposting (composting with worms) and Bokashi (anaerobic composting with a microbial accelerator). These methods are not only great for cold weather composting, but they’re useful tools for composting all year round whether you live in a small space, an apartment, or in a group settings. By learning the basics and a few simple tips and tricks, anyone can be successful at these methods of indoor composting. This workshop will explain everything you need to know to get started. Come join us to learn about the wacky world of worms and microbes and these interesting and advanced methods of composting!

Accessibility: The Saugerties Library is fully accessible with two dedicated accessible parking spots, automatic entrance doors, and an elevator leading down to the Community Room where the class will be held. Accessible bathrooms are available on this lower level as well. The community room is equipped with a large display screen and a microphone that allows for amplification of the speaker’s voices. Reserved seating is available upon request for anyone who may have special needs. Library staff will work with any community member to accommodate them to the best of our capabilities. All are welcome to our programs.
