Community Spotlight Blog by Allison McIntyre (Recycling Administration Assistant), and Tanesia White (former Recycling Educator)

Interviewees: Leah Watkins

The Recycling Outreach Team’s “Community Spotlight” initiative highlights local stories about waste-sustainability. Earlier this Fall, UCRRA visited Folk Refillery in uptown Kingston, which opened last year. A refillery is a supply shop that provides residents with a zero waste shopping option.
Allison and Tanesia spoke with the founder and owner of Folk Leah Watkins, about her sustainable business practices, the importance of low waste and why Kingston was a perfect spot for her storefront.
