INSTRUCTIONS
Wrapping paper and tissue paper (such as from gift bags and gift-giving) is acceptable for recycling along with other types of mixed paper. It is not necessary to remove tape, however ribbons and bows should be removed and reused. Ribbons, bows, etc. are NOT recyclable.
These guidelines apply to most gift paper, excluding any paper that is metallic or glittery, which should be discarded in the trash.
OTHER OPTIONS
There are many alternative ways to wrap/package a gift that are low-waste. Transition to reusable gift bags and save the tissue paper for reuse. Package gifts in a reusable gift basket. Or get creative and make the wrapping part of the gift with tea towels, fabric, etc.
