UCRRA Partners with GreenSheen Paint for Free Community Paint Collection Event at Wallkill High School on October 10
The Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency (UCRRA), in partnership The Town of Shawangunk, Wallkill Central School District, and GreenSheen Paint, will host a free community paint collection event on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wallkill High School (90 Robinson Dr, Wallkill, NY 12589). This event provides NYS residents and local businesses with a convenient, environmentally responsible way to recycle leftover architectural paint and stains.
Accepted Program Items (Architectural Paint Only):
- Interior and exterior architectural paints: latex, acrylic, water-based, and oil-based (alkyd)
- Deck coatings, floor paints, and concrete sealers
- Primers, undercoats, stains, clear finishes, shellacs, and lacquers
- Note: Containers must be original, labeled, secure, and no larger than 5 gallons in size.
Items NOT Accepted at This Collection:
- Aerosol spray paints
- Paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents, varnishes, and strippers
- Household hazardous waste (pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, batteries, or cleaning products)
- Industrial or automotive coatings
- Leaking cans
Ulster County Residents with any other types of chemicals not accepted by this event should sign up for UCRRA’s Household Hazardous Waste collection program ucrra.org/event/sun-october-25th-2026-hhw-event/
