UCRRA reserves the right to reject participants that do not comply with the program rules

Participants must be a legal resident of Ulster County. No exceptions.

Accepted wastes must be generated in a home, and not affiliated with any commercial business, nonprofit, or institution. All participants must sign a Declaration of Residency and Non-Commercial Waste statement.

A Registration Period (for each event) will open 4-6 weeks before the collection day. Appointments are required to accommodate the high number of participants and will be accepted until the maximum allowable slots are filled. Once the schedule becomes full, the Agency will maintain a waiting list for any cancellations. We aim to accommodate as many residents as possible! If you cannot keep your appointment, please share a courtesy of contacting us as soon as possible so that we may offer the slot to another household.

Each household may bring up to 220 lbs. or a 25 gallon equivalent of the accepted items. No containers larger than 5 gallons will be accepted. Fluorescent bulb limit: 24 bulbs per household. The Agency reserves the right to judge the amount of waste.

If a product is not in its original container, or it is an unknown or unlabeled substance, contact UCRRA 2-3 weeks before the event for further instructions. Contact Angelina Brandt, Director of Sustainability at APEO@UCRRA.ORG

Boxes, gas cans, and other containers will not be returned. No exceptions.

The designated hazardous waste unloading area is a restricted area. Authorized personnel will unload your vehicle for you and you must stay in your car at all times.

Please share the courtesy of calling us to cancel your appointment as soon as possible and no later than the Friday before the event. Only a limited number of appointment slots are available and this program is in high demand. Cancelling your appointment allows us to accommodate another household on the waiting list.

PUT ALL ITEMS IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR. This will allow us to unload your vehicle quickly, and it minimizes harm to you and other passengers in your vehicle. We ask that you please package any paint products separately from other chemicals (in the trunk of your vehicle).

Please carefully review the list below to ensure the items you will be bringing are accepted.
