Join UCRRA at the Ulster County Fair! UCRRA will be hosting an outreach booth in “Climate Row” which is a vendor section of the Fair (underneath the big white tents) that features local environmental nonprofits and community groups.
The theme of our booth this year, celebrating our 40th Anniversary, will be “Build the Future Waste System” – a sustainability vision board to gather public input about the future of our waste system. Imagine Ulster County in 2066 and engage with our interactive map of the county and public program opportunities.
We’ll also have a Fortune Teller game that helps introduce people to all the existing places to recycle, compost, reuse, or safely dispose of chemicals.
Our booth will offer public voting on finalists of our sticker design contest.
Our staff and volunteers will be available to answer recycling and composting questions, stop on by and learn more about local waste and recycling!
Visitors can complete any number of quick actions to receive a “stamp” on their “passport” Each stamp grants an instant prize and a chance to win one of our grand prizes, an Earth Machine Compost Bin or a Systern Rain Barrel. This offer is valid for Ulster County residents only.
