Ballasts

UCRRA accepts ballasts. Our minimum load fee and a charge for fluorescent tube ballasts will apply.

Please note ALL open vehicles (truck beds or trailer hitches) must have their load covered by a secured tarp. No exceptions or you will be subjected to a fee. Click here for UCRRA’s Fee Schedule.

Eastern State Electrical Supply in Kingston at (845) 331-8500 will accept all fluorescent bulbs and ballasts for a fee.  Residents may also contact their local Town Transfer Station to ask about bulb disposal. Local scrap metal recycling facilities include West Kingston Recycling in Kingston (845) 331-3312, CANOS Recycling in Saugerties (845) 331-7600 and A. Messina & Sons Scrap Metal Recycling in Gardiner (845) 883-6543. Contact them directly for more information.
