INSTRUCTIONS
Recycle by shape, not by number. The most recyclable shapes are bottles, jugs, jars, tubs, and their lids. There are many considerations for what makes something ‘recyclable’ or not – such as size, shape, color, resin type, and quality of material. Laundry baskets, storage containers, or other similar bulky rigid plastic objects are the wrong shape and size and are NOT acceptable for recycling at UCRRA. These containers should be reused, donated for reuse, or otherwise disposed of in the trash.
Visit our Recyclopedia page called Plastic Recycling to learn more.
OTHER OPTIONS:
If you use a hauler who picks up your recycling curbside, please check with the company for their recycling guidelines. Although bulky rigid objects are widely NOT accepted in local recycling programs, recycling guidelines can vary from company to company.
If your baskets, storage bins, etc. are in good condition try donating them to a reuse organization or share on your social media pages to give away.
