INSTRUCTIONS

Recycle by shape, not by number. The most recyclable shapes are bottles, jugs, jars, tubs, and their lids. There are many considerations for what makes something ‘recyclable’ or not – such as size, shape, color, resin type, and quality of material. Items such as string lights, garland, garden hoses, ropes, chains, plastic bags, and electrical cords are the wrong shape and can become tangled around recycling facility equipment, causing expensive machinery breakdowns and putting workers in danger. These items should NOT be placed in the recycling bin under any circumstances.

Help keep workers safe and recyclables valuable by keeping tanglers out of the recycling bin!
