Compost Happens! You don’t have to be an expert to be successful at backyard composting; you just need to learn a few basic tips and tricks to get cooking. It’s science; but it’s not rocket science!

Join the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency’s Recycling Outreach Team for a community conversation about Home Composting Basics. This free workshop is designed for composters who are exploring the different options and methods. The class will introduce the benefits of home composting and the principles of how to do it correctly (balancing browns and greens, avoiding animals, maintenance tips and more). Then, participants will learn the pros and cons when comparing different bins to find the perfect option no matter your situation. This class will also cover all the ways you can use finished compost to boost your garden’s soil health. This class will be hosted by Eva Barnett, Recycling Educator with the UCRRA’s Recycling Outreach Team.

Class size is limited and participants must pre-register. Register by clicking the button below!
